Well...I guess I will do it. I will give in. I will blog. I figure this is the best way to share our daily/weekly adventures as new parents to our sweet Molly Elizabeth. I am also attempting to write little letters here and there to Molly to tell her things I think she will one day want to know about her first few months of life. So, between that, trying to get pictures on facebook, and this...we'll see what actually gets done.
I've actually been on a little "rant" lately about how everything is going to technology (e-readers, mp3, digital video, etc). I LOVE technology, our household is filled with it. Everything imaginable except an ereader. But Lately, I've been a little aggervated at the thought of Molly's life being documented and kept on little discs and not printed into photo albums (Yes, I know I have to take the time to do this), and then the other day, when I saw the advertisement for "childrens books available on e-readers", I just became sad. I don't want Molly to grow up with a machine in her hand touching the screen to see the pages of Winnie the Pooh, or The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, or Dr Seuss, or any other classic childrens book. I want her to have the appreciation for books and handwritten notes as she grows. And so...I have to be cautious how much of this technology I continue to allow into my daily life, and be cautious as to what she sees me doing.
So that being said- I'm trying to make sure that as I use this blogspot to my advantage so that family can keep up with Molly's day by day life, I also want to make sure that I take time to handwrite her notes, and such so that one day, she can look back on that "touch of me" during these first few months. So...we will see how this goes, and how long I keep it up. But for now...we shall begin sharing my daily adventures as Molly's mommy...truly the most amazing blessing God has given me.
You know, you can use Blog2Print to create a blog book for Molly. It takes all of your blog posts and creates a book for you to purchase. Sometimes they run specials on groupon and living social too. So check that out and be on the lookout. :)
